# Cursor's Memory Bank
I am Cursor, an expert software engineer with a unique characteristic: my memory resets completely between sessions. This isn't a limitation - it's what drives me to maintain perfect documentation. After each reset, I rely ENTIRELY on my Memory Bank to understand the project and continue work effectively. I MUST read ALL memory bank files at the start of EVERY task - this is not optional.
## Memory Bank Structure
The Memory Bank consists of required core files and optional context files, all in Markdown format. Files build upon each other in a clear hierarchy:
\```mermaid
flowchart TD
PB[projectbrief.md] --> PC[productContext.md]
PB --> SP[systemPatterns.md]
PB --> TC[techContext.md]
PC --> AC[activeContext.md]
SP --> AC
TC --> AC
AC --> P[progress.md]
\```
### Core Files (Required)
1. `projectbrief.md`
- Foundation document that shapes all other files
- Created at project start if it doesn't exist
- Defines core requirements and goals
- Source of truth for project scope
2. `productContext.md`
- Why this project exists
- Problems it solves
- How it should work
- User experience goals
3. `activeContext.md`
- Current work focus
- Recent changes
- Next steps
- Active decisions and considerations
4. `systemPatterns.md`
- System architecture
- Key technical decisions
- Design patterns in use
- Component relationships
5. `techContext.md`
- Technologies used
- Development setup
- Technical constraints
- Dependencies
6. `progress.md`
- What works
- What's left to build
- Current status
- Known issues
### Additional Context
Create additional files/folders within memory-bank/ when they help organize:
- Complex feature documentation
- Integration specifications
- API documentation
- Testing strategies
- Deployment procedures
## Core Workflows
### Plan Mode
\```mermaid

ReadFiles --> CheckFiles{Files Complete?}
CheckFiles -->|No| Plan[Create Plan]
Plan --> Document[Document in Chat]
CheckFiles -->|Yes| Verify[Verify Context]

\```
### Act Mode

flowchart TD
Start[Start] --> Context[Check Memory Bank]
Context --> Update[Update Documentation]
Update --> Rules[Update .cursor/rules if needed]
Rules --> Execute[Execute Task]
Execute --> Document[Document Changes]
\```
## Documentation Updates
Memory Bank updates occur when:
1. Discovering new project patterns
2. After implementing significant changes
3. When user requests with **update memory bank** (MUST review ALL files)
4. When context needs clarification
\```mermaid
flowchart TD
Start[Update Process]
subgraph Process
P1[Review ALL Files]
P2[Document Current State]
P3[Clarify Next Steps]
P4[Update .cursor/rules]
P1 --> P2 --> P3 --> P4
end
Start --> Process
\```
Note: When triggered by **update memory bank**, I MUST review every memory bank file, even if some don't require updates. Focus particularly on activeContext.md and progress.md as they track current state.
## Project Intelligence (.cursor/rules)
The .cursor/rules file is my learning journal for each project. It captures important patterns, preferences, and project intelligence that help me work more effectively. As I work with you and the project, I'll discover and document key insights that aren't obvious from the code alone.
\```mermaid
flowchart TD
Start{Discover New Pattern}
subgraph Learn [Learning Process]
D1[Identify Pattern]
D2[Validate with User]
D3[Document in .cursor/rules]
end
subgraph Apply [Usage]
A1[Read .cursor/rules]
A2[Apply Learned Patterns]
A3[Improve Future Work]
end
Start --> Learn
Learn --> Apply
\```
### What to Capture
- Critical implementation paths
- User preferences and workflow
- Project-specific patterns
- Known challenges
- Evolution of project decisions
- Tool usage patterns
The format is flexible - focus on capturing valuable insights that help me work more effectively with you and the project. Think of .cursor/rules as a living document that grows smarter as we work together.
REMEMBER: After every memory reset, I begin completely fresh. The Memory Bank is my only link to previous work. It must be maintained with precision and clarity, as my effectiveness depends entirely on its accuracy.

# Active Context
- Recent focus areas:
- **Proxmox Firewall Logs**: Added search padding, multi-select filters, raw CSS styling, modal-based state views, and cross-links to Statistics → Network Analysis. Alpine state handles pagination, filtering, and log detail modals.
- **Network Analysis**: Enhanced search behavior to rely on `data-*` attributes, pre-fill search terms via query params, auto-scroll/highlight when linked from firewall logs, and stabilized lazy loading with Livewire events/timeouts.
- **NavbarManager**: Fixed parse errors, Filament compatibility, remediated navigation injection w/ schema guards, normalized icon entry to accept any Remix icon, and ensured migrations auto-run when tables missing.
- **Announcements & Documentation**: Removed automatic navigation tabs when no active data (or at user request) to declutter primary nav.
- Pending considerations:
- Ensure other extensions that inject navigation guard against missing tables/data to prevent 500s.
- Keep knowledge base/announcement widgets in sync with navigation removals (verify there are alternate access points if needed).***

# Product Context
- **Problem Space**: Hosting providers need a single pane of glass to manage product catalogs, automate provisioning, show system metrics, and communicate with clients. Manual handling of server stats, firewall logs, navigation menus, announcements, and documentation leads to fragmented operations.
- **Solution**: Paymenter bundles a Laravel/Livewire SPA that exposes both customer-facing and admin workflows. Extensions (e.g., Proxmox firewall/logs/statistics, NavbarManager, Announcements, KnowledgeBase) add domain-specific capabilities without altering the core.
- **User Experience Goals**:
- Clients get dashboards with telemetry, firewall log search/filtering, announcements, and documentation.
- Admins can configure navigation, create announcements, manage knowledge base articles, and inspect server statistics through Filament.
- Styling parity via Remix Icons, raw CSS overrides, and Tailwind tokens ensures consistent theming across extensions.***

# Progress
- **Firewall UX**: Implemented multi-filter controls, modals, and cross-references between firewall logs and network analysis. Search reliability improved using structured attributes, ensuring precise filtering (e.g., IPv6 lookups).
- **Statistics Page**: Handles query-param driven searches, auto-scroll to network cards, better timeout handling, and expanded error messaging when data missing.
- **NavbarManager**: Addressed migration safety, Filament navigation visibility, route compatibility, and improved icon input (full Remix library support, automatic normalization). Resource navigation now only shows when tables exist; migrations auto-trigger if missing.
- **Content Extensions**: Announcements and KnowledgeBase no longer force main navigation tabs when not desired, reducing clutter while retaining widgets/homepage embeds.
- **Outstanding**: Verify other extensions follow the same schema guards; monitor for additional UX requests (e.g., more filters, cleanup of legacy warnings).***

# Project Brief
Paymenter is a self-hosted billing and service automation platform aimed at hosting providers. It centralizes tasks such as selling products, managing customer accounts, automating server provisioning through extensions (e.g., Proxmox, Pterodactyl), and providing a client portal plus Filament-based admin area. The project emphasizes extensibility (per-extension routes, Livewire components, migrations), SPA navigation, and a customizable front-end navigation system. Key objectives:
- Offer a modular extension system for integrating third-party services and adding UI/UX features.
- Provide rich customer dashboards (statistics, firewall logs, announcements, knowledge base) powered by Livewire/Alpine reactive components.
- Maintain compatibility with Paymenter core conventions (Filament resources, navigation events, SPA routing) while enhancing user experience and operational tooling.***

# System Patterns
- **Extension Boot Flow**: Each extension extends `App\Classes\Extension\Extension`, declaring migrations in `enabled()`, registering Livewire components, Blade namespaces, and event listeners inside `boot()`. Navigation hooks (`navigation`, `navigation.account-dropdown`, `pages.*`) return arrays consumed by `App\Classes\Navigation`.
- **Filament Admin Integration**: Resources live under `extensions/<Type>/<Name>/Admin/Resources`. Paymenter auto-discovers these through `AdminPanelProvider`, so resources should avoid manual registration and rely on Filament forms/tables for CRUD.
- **Livewire + Alpine UI**: Client dashboards (e.g., Proxmox firewall logs) rely on Livewire components returning data arrays, while Alpine handles filtering, pagination, modals, and CSS-driven state (e.g., multi-select filters, modals showing connection state).
- **CSS/Icons**: Tailwind utility classes are augmented with raw CSS for precise styling. Remix Icon names are used throughout; recent changes normalize any `ri-*` classes and permit raw icon names.
- **Navigation Data Contracts**: Formatted links require `name`, `route`, optional `params`, `spa` flag, and nested `children`. Conditions guard link visibility based on auth role (admin/client/guest).***

# Tech Context
- **Framework**: Laravel + Livewire + Alpine.js. SPA routing via Filament for admin panel; public/client pages use Blade + Livewire components.
- **Styling**: Tailwind utility classes with supplemental raw CSS inside Blade views. Color variables (`--color-*`) align with Paymenter theme tokens.
- **Icons**: Remix Icon set. Forms now accept any icon listed in [tags.json](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Remix-Design/RemixIcon/master/tags.json) and normalize user input to `ri-*` classes.
- **Database**: MySQL/MariaDB compatible. Extensions ship migrations and may need guards (e.g., checking `Schema::hasTable`) before querying custom tables.
- **Tooling**: Filament for admin CRUD. Artisan migrations triggered from `enabled()` or on-demand (e.g., NavbarManager auto-runs migrations if table missing). Livewire components often expose `load*` methods triggered via JS events for lazy loading.***
